Today my MTC companion, David Rodriquez (he's mexican), got married. It's funny because our group all voted that he would be the first one to get married when we all got home. You better watch out Jason Woodruff, cause you were voted as the second to get married.
it was actually fun picking out wedding gifts. i didn't really want to get something from the registry because that kind of feels like cheating to me, like looking at answers for a test. i was trying to think of a really good gift, but not something expensive because i'm not working right now. i ended up getting them two games, Battle Ship and Guess Who. that's what i would want. and i don't think you can be a family until you get some good board games. it also works out that those are both two-player games which is great because when people get married it seems as though they gain a husband or wife, but lose all their friends. two player games are vital.
We also got to the reception right when it started. actually a few minutes early. that was so weird. i've always shown up to receptions later when there's more people there than the wedding party people, like tonight when we got there it was just the bride's maids and groom's men and all of their grandparents. at least tonight we got first dibs on the reception food! it was delicious! and we didn't have to wait in a redicioulsy long line to shake hands with the bride and groom and their parents.
Overall, i think wedding receptions are pretty cool now. they sucked when i was younger, but they are fun now because i actually know the people that get married, the food is great and lots of times there is a chocolate fountain involved, and i'm way good at catching that little sexy thing that the groom takes off the leg of his wife, sometimes with his teeth, and slings it into the crowd. i think i've caught three of them. their magical powers of making you get married quick haven't been working though, probably cause i've i was on a mission and we're not allowed to get married on our missions. now i'm just adjusting back to school and normal life, so maybe when i try to get married the power of three of those things will totally lead me to the coolest girl in the world and help trick her into thinking i'm the coolest guy in the world.

PS. There were no churros at the reception. that's like minus ten points, but if you are mexican, that's like minus 10 billion points.
