California

i was going to wait to do this blog because i wanted my dad to send me some photos from his camera to post on here, but he hasn't sent them yet. so i'll just add those photos to my blog later.
i flew into california, long beach airport last thursday the 24th for sierra's baby blessing. it was so fun to go to california and be with everyone, well everyone except jody and dieter, they couldn't come, but it was fun anyway. when i flew in my mom, jenny, sierra and i went to souplantation, where i used to work, for dinner. we were there for about two hours and i was eating the whole time! some people may think that i might not eaten very much anyway because i eat so slow... here's some pics though!

that's me eating an ice cream cone and there's my mom and sierra

i don't know how sierra did it, but somehow she managed to pee and it went through the diaper, through the blanket and on my mom... they changed her right away and wrapped her in a different blanket then gave her to me. it looks like in this picture sierra and i think it's pretty funny that she peed on mom.

well, the next day, friday, i met up with some old friends from high school and we ate lunch together at pick up stix. i ate with stephen nelson, kenny palmer and sean april. that was so much fun, i had a good group back in high school. we went to balboa island as a family too. it was fun. we all went to the salt water taffy place on the island and then my mom really wanted to go to the toy store there. it was pretty cool. we also ate at BJ's and had pizookies for dessert! those are sooo good!

here's the pizookie!

here's some pictures from saturday morning. sierra is so fun.

she already recognizes her favorite uncle!

during the day, my dad and i went to taqueria for lunch then we went and saw hancock at the birch street theatres. it was pretty fun. then we had a family bbq which was delicious. i think i also got some campitelli cookies on saturday too.

on sunday the baby blessing was great. jason blessed sierra and did a great job. here's a pic of sierra in her little white dress with her parents.

i was supposed to fly out sunday night for provo, and when i got to the airport, i found out my flight was delayed 6 hours... while i waited i just read my book with the occasional break to do some people watching and what not. about 4 hours into my wait, they announced that my flight was cancelled. so, jason picked me up and i went back to their house. i caught a flight monday which had a stop in las vegas. i sat next to a pretty old lady. when the plane was taking off, we were both way excited and said to eachother at almost exactly the same time, "take offs and landings are my favorite part!"afther that, she was talking to me non-stop. during the flight she was looking at land marks and guessing which cities we were flying over. it was pretty funny because she'd get so excited and prove to me which city it was by explaing all the surrounding landmarks. i had my tv on the flight tracking channel so i could tell her our speed and altitude every couple of minutes too. she asked where i was flying to and i said salt lake city, and for the rest of the flight she kept asking me about seattle eventhough i told her about 5 times i wasn't going to seattle but to salt lake city utah. haha, later she asked my major and when i told her psychology, she said that she sat next to a psychologist on the way to california... and the psychologist was from seattle too. i love meeting people on the plane!

oh and here's one last picture. you know you're professional at holding babies when you can hold one like this...

4th of July!

hey, i'm finally sitting down and writing about something!

for the 4th of july i went to idaho with my roommate darren and we stayed with a relative of his. we left provo around noon in a car w/o air conditioning, so the trip up there was pretty not fun. our mouths kept getting dry and the slurpees we got from a gas station (not 7-11) ended up making us feel way sick. also, in idaho, darren got pulled over and given a ticket for speeding. that was pretty funny. the picture is kind of small, but that's the cop car in the side mirror.

that night we all went to watch a firework show. it wasn't that impressive, but it was still fun. on the way there, darren got pulled over again because he didn't signal when he made a right turn. the police asked if we had any illegal drugs or weapons and asked to see my i.d. also. it was pretty weird. darren didn't get a ticket though. the next morning on the 5th, we hit the rivers! we went kayaking in the morning. it was so much fun. at first i got in my kayak and paddled about three times then completely flipped over! it was pretty embarrassing. but once i got back in, i never fell out again and was even going down some rapids sideways and spinning 360s and what stuff. that's definatly a hobby i can get in to.

later in the evening, we went to a different river with huge rapids and did some white water rafting! darren and i were sitting in the front of the raft. those rapids were pretty big and sometimes they'd send me and darren flying in the air. we mostly landed back in the raft, but once i got bounced up and then the raft moved to the right, so my lower half was in the water and i was holding on to the edge of the raft with one arm and holding my paddle with the other. it was pretty intense!

also, we got a new roommate. management didn't even tell us that he was coming, so i came home from work and there he was... everyone should get a chance to meet him because he's really interesting... here's a little taste of the new guy.

so i've got some good news...

we lost all three games of bowling tonight.

but we didn't lose by that much.

and it was against the best team in the league.

and no one on our team has bowled in over 2 weeks. we're a little rusty.

and i think it might have been a practice game.

we decided to go with "the bowling stones" - jody's idea.

so i think we've got a good chance of doing well this semester.

that's all

summer bowling

okay, a new season of bowling league is going to start on july 2nd. we need to think of a new team name and individual bowler names. so if you want to help out and think of something clever, that would be great! so all 4 of you that read my blog, think hard!

i've thought of a couple that i think are way funny, maybe i'll make a list and post that up later. if no one gives any suggestions, i'll assume that you're all just as not creative as me and my team. and that's not cool.

this picture of a bowling ball is to motivate you to think of a good name. if you don't think of one, don't be suprised when you see mr. t pop out of the a-team van and yell at you, then shoot something with a million bullets from the same clip. he does it all the time. he'll do it too cause he owes me a favor. i'm the one that told him the chuck taylor converse allstars are the shoes to wear when all you have is overalls and huge amounts of gold.

Paint

i couldn't sleep the other night so my methods to make myself tired were painting a sweet picture on the paint program that comes on a computer and playing minesweeper.

check out my picture.

i think it's pretty cool and there's not one specific interpretation so maybe if you can't fall asleep sometime, you can look at this and see how many interpretations you can make.

the 200 club

i finally made it to the 200 club in bowling. just barely. there's not really a club that i know of, but that's what we call those who have broken past the 200 barrier. last week i bowled a 204. this isn't a post to brag or anything, my mom and sister told me to, and i've got some time at work right now, so i figured i'd post about it.

it felt pretty good to bowl over 200 especially since the people on my bowling team were making fun of me for never being able to do it before. and now i don't know what else to write. here's a picture.

i don't usually wear a sweatband when i bowl, but it was team uniform night so every team that wore matching uniforms got 40 points added to their lowest game, so we wore those sweatbands as a team uniform. they're pretty sweet because they are reversable and the other side is blue. if i didn't have any scruff on my face, i'd kind of feel like bleeker from juno with that sweatband, not that i made anyone pregnant or anything, just cause of the yellow sweatband.
